We have monthly evening meetings in Winchester, with guest speakers on transport related subjects. There are also outings using our vehicles, and members are welcome to ride on the buses and coaches when we take them to running days, rallies, and other events.
If you're interested in working on the vehicles, there are regular working sessions on Tuesday evenings and Saturdays. The work ranges from vehicle maintenance and running repairs to major restoration projects, as well as premises maintenance, and many other tasks.
After one year's membership you can train as a conductor and crew FoKAB vehicles. If you hold a PCV, after a qualifying period you may be considered for driving duties, although this is subject to type testing and insurance requirements.
In the past, our big event each year has been the renowned King Alfred Buses Running Day on 1st January, recreating the 1960s bus scene in Winchester. We have now moved the event to the springtime. Many of our members help plan and staff this major public event and all involved have a great time!
The "Broadway Bulletin" magazine is published regularly, informing members of meetings, engineering reports, bus-related articles, and details of events to which we are taking a bus or coach. As a member you can choose to have this posted or emailed to you.
